Bismillah..
Salam..

New news! (Ohh yeahh I just got to know abt it this week..) Microsoft has discontinued its support for the Visual Basic 6 programming language. It is said that now is the time to migrate applications from VB6 to .NET especially for financial services. Hmm..the fee-based support in fact has already ended in March 2008. Hoho am I the last programmer who did a project using VB6..? hahaha… and now VB6 is obsolete! and no worries I’m already done with the project! phewwwwhhh.. btw my project is a super HUGE NOT related to any financial services or application though! Yes my project focus on compiler construction. So actually it’s not really affected or not affected at all I guess..heehee..  well I just feel like to share this news with u all.. have a pleasant day ahead!

The Yamaha BODiBEAT is an MP3 player with a uniquely medical twist; it listens to your heartbeat while you’re walking or working out and picks music to match your pace.

No one knows you as well as your Yamaha Bodibeat. This MP3 player scans your music collection and plays tunes in sync with your heartbeat.

The player works in four modes: workout, fitness, training and a standard music-playing mode. The workout mode automatically matches your music with your heartbeatslow down and you might get some smooth jazz; speed up and you get grunge — while the other two modes play music at a brisk tempo, encouraging you to work harder. It comes with a set of electronic beats or can pull music from your own collection, assuming there are ample upbeat beats available.

The Bodibeat software lets you record runs and plan workouts based on intensity and speed. It includes a pulse and pace sensor for measuring heart rate and distance completed.

Alhamdulillah syukur sangat!

Now I have reasons to smile =)

Results were out last Friday.
Eventhough the management said it will be officially out on 26th of November which is on Monday, but apparently they will input all the grades a day  before, so by the evening the results can already been viewed via the info dot online.. Every semester was like that..it’s just that if they announced the day is on Friday so we can view it as early as Thursday evening or sometimes afternoon, depends.. (Like this time, obviously Saturday and Sunday are days off for the uni, so logically they will input all the grades either on Thursday or Friday, thus we students can check our results starting on Friday..)

Today me, our dean, the new-deputy-dean and another student went to Menara ExxonMobile for a special event. It was a last minute information (which is yesterday evening) yet was a very3x happy and exciting news that I received! hihihi.. Exxon Mobile was inviting us to participate in their OutReach Program + Best Student Award for IT Faculty. There were representatives from 5 universities which are my uni, UNITEN, UKM, UPM, MMU and UITM.  Some brief about the program. They started off with introducing their company, what are their major business, upstream and downstream, yes obviously more towards on oil and gas! Then they moved on with careers in ExxonMobil (EM) and working experience in ExxonMobile Information Technology (EMIT). I love this part! To all my uni’s friends do try to apply at ExxonMobile (nak recommond nih..) coz they really need IT fresh graduates..seriously, plus they offer lots of benefits and training along the way as well. Every year the EM will recruit quite a number of IT fresh graduates as compared to the engineering fresh graduates which only 10-15 people a year. So dear friends lets grab this oppurtunity! I also met one of our senior who’s working there..  aaa..but please don’t get me wrong haa..eventhough I went there today, I have not been promised that I got the job there. Not at all. The event objective is likely for branding the ExxonMobile Information Technology. Later, after the Best Student Award Presentation (I love this part too! hehe), we were touring the 6th and 9th floor of the Menara EM. The program was ended with lunch at Traders Hotel. Traders Hotel is just opposite to the Menara EM. Lovely foods. Great Award. Many thanks to ExxonMobile!

Again Alhamdulillah ya Allah for all the blessings!

This coming Monday : Day one - life of final year, final semester ;)

Welcome to semester 8th and tata to 3-weeks holiday!

Pray for me dear friends!

40 sen a kilo for your old computers

Old computers may not have any value in running the latest software, but you can still get 40 sens a kilogramme out of the machine.

The payment will be made to anyone who sends computers to any of the nine collection centres in Petaling Jaya except the SS3 Residents Association collection centre (where all proceeds would go towards the association instead).

The PC Recycling campaign is a joint effort between Dell, the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ), SK Sri Kelana and eight Petaling Jaya residents associations to ensure that old computers do not end up in the landfill.

For more information on the list of venues and collection times, call 1-800-88-0640.
