on the way back from class, yesterday..
a driver taxi throwing out a crumple of plastic without even feeling guilty, yes i’m sure it’s the driver coz no passenger in his taxi i can see..oh my god!
where’s his self conscious, where’s his civic minded? where has he put all that values? at his knee?
well this is not my first time seeing this unethical, irresponsible, bad attitude in malaysia… it happens many times, almost at every places… just imagine if malaysians have this kind of terrible attitude, how can we achieve a title of ‘first country’
. Our technology and development has already towards the ‘first country’ criteria, however the attitude of most malaysian are beyond it and still far away, which I can categorized it still under ‘third country’, please do not ever say that you are civilised..or you are hoping and dreaming our beloved malaysia to be a ‘first country’..unless you’ve look at yourself, are you the one who are going to throw your chewing gum or sweet wrappers or tissue or ciggaretes in the dustbin? If you answer no and rarely do that..then just forget to have a country like Japan, or any western country..why? because to do that simple thing also you can’t then how will you be punctual, polite to the older people and respect the disable people, give your seat to them, queuing up whenever to buy or ride something, give way to the pedestrian or people who wanna cross the road, having clean public toilet and many more…the list will go on..
i would like to share some stories here…
this ’s hapenned when i was in japan, a lady brought along her dog walking at the park..then as usual…dog or any pet would do this..defecating on the street..yes..discharging something ehem..hihi.. but to my surprise this lady picked up all those ehem thingy and put it in the plastic bag.. can u see it how people really care and concern about the park, as well as the other visitors.. as to compared here in Malaysia… huh.. rarely happens or never ever happened..
Another story, about malaysian attitude again… sweet wrappers on the floor especially in theatre room and classrooms where most of the time people that occupied the room are students!… why those people who got brain are too lazy to throw it into a dustbin, instead they throw it on the floor…I’ve seen this many times as well..when being asked, they said they pay the cleaner, they pay the room… ahha it reminds me on what my lecturer said this morning that a cleaner is not an animal. The analogue is like this, usually here in Malaysia when people eat at the restaurant they will throw the left over foods on the floor so that the cat can eat it…think about it. Yes we pay the room, we have cleaner but is that too hard or too dirty to throw it on your own? That’s why there are too many cleaners in Malaysia, nearly 24 hours they have to work. Unlike in Japan, where in one building, there are only like 2-3 cleaners or in some places less..in which they only do their job in the morning. Their people have make the cleaners’ job easier in the sense of not littering around, separating the plastic, paper, glass, bottle and etc… Well again I’m wondering, here in malaysia, if we already separate the things that can be recycle such as bottles in one bag, glasses in one bag, papers in one bag..unfortunately when the garbage-picker come, they would just un-pack it and combine it with other rubbish in the lorry..so who’s in the wrong side now? We? or the system? We try to do our part, but seemed like it does not work at all. So no use of separating it ..aite? How about the ads in TV that ask us to do the recycle thing?
well to list out stories about bad attitudes of malaysian..they are too many… having said all that I hope that my generations and the younger generations will change and make malaysia to be a first country to be reality! Yes we can! MALAYSIA BOLEH! We have to change! how i wish to have a public transport like buses and trains to be as punctual and arrive on the dot as in Japan! Always wondering how they manage to that. Probably we have to start from the root, the individual one, to have the self-conscious first, then only we can move to the next step, aite..
something to ponder on…
